This website provided me with a variety of information. First, I got three key dates that were focused on the time royals from Portuguese relocated to Brazil when the capital of Brazil was switched and no longer was Rio, and lastly when Rio hosted the first international World Summit Day. Second, I got a list of the main tourist attractions in Rio since tourism is one of the main drivers of the economy and a very big part of daily life in Rio. Some of these attractions were Samba City, Ipanema Beach, The Statue of Christ the Redeemer, and Tijuca national park. Lastly, I read about the poverty and crime seen all throughout the city m=but mainly in Favelas. This is one of the main political concerns of the city and in the article they talk about some solutions to solving these two problems. This website helped me with information that I put on the politics and leadership, economic activities, and cultural characteristics tabs.

On this database, I got lots of information on the cultural aspects of Rio. I got information on the art institutions and museums along with cool facts on the National Library which Rio is home to. I also got information on the cultures that are seen throughout the city and how they all come together, these cultures are Portuguese, Indian, and African. Lastly, I got information on the art that is visually seen throughout the city. It talked about the art on the sidewalks, buildings, and most places around the city. This database was very helpful and all this information was used on my cultural characteristics tab.

This database gave me information on the physical site of Rio along with some important dates in its history. Rio is a financial, commercial, and cultural city that is the second largest in Brazil. It is a vertical city with three zones, the northern, southern, and central. The first inhabitants of Rio were Tupi Indians and the year 1502 marked the day a portuguese explorer made his way to Rio. This information goes on the population demographics and treands tab alon gwith the homepage.

This database gave me key dates history of Rio, and information on the people of Rio. People of Rio are called Cariocas and it means white mans house. They are people of American Indian, European, and African descent. In the early 1900s, Rio went through a period of modernization with the construction of a new port and news broad roads. because of the growing population, there was lots of new infrastructure sprouting up as well. Also, the year 2014 marks the important time in Rios history when they hosted the Olympics. This information was used on the homepage, population demographics and trends, and politics and leadership tabs.

This database gave me important dates and information about the economy. One of the first exports of Rio was sugar that was produced using slave labor and during the seventeenth century, Rio went through lots of economic growth. Rio was a main exporter of coffee but once there was a decline in the production the creation of the port began. The port allowed for free exports and imports along with a new place for ships to easily dock. This information was used on my economic activities tab and some information was used on my timeline.

It also discussed how the celebrations kick off with the crowning of King Momo and how there are many celebrations that begin once this takes place. Finally, it talked about the history of Samba and how it is very important and idolized throughout the celebrations of Carnival. Rio is typically hot and humid with a tropical climate. Rio is the second most industrial area in Brazil. It also has many different sectors to its economy. This database gave me information on the physical site of Rio along with some important dates in its history. Rio is a financial, commercial, and cultural city that is the second largest in Brazil. It is a vertical city with three zones, the northern, southern, and central. The first inhabitants of Rio were Tupi Indians and the year 1502 marked the day a portuguese explorer made his way to Rio. This information goes on the population demographics and treands tab alon gwith the homepage.

This database gave me key dates history of Rio, and information on the people of Rio. People of Rio are called Cariocas and it means white mans house. They are people of American Indian, European, and African descent. In the early 1900s, Rio went through a period of modernization with the construction of a new port and news broad roads. because of the growing population, there was lots of new infrastructure sprouting up as well. Also, the year 2014 marks the important time in Rios history when they hosted the Olympics. This information was used on the homepage, population demographics and trends, and politics and leadership tabs.

This database gave me important dates and information about the economy. One of the first exports of Rio was sugar that was produced using slave labor and during the seventeenth century, Rio went through lots of economic growth. Rio was a main exporter of coffee but once there was a decline in the production the creation of the port began. The port allowed for free exports and imports along with a new place for ships to easily dock. This information was used on my economic activities tab and some information was used on my timeline.

First, this source talked about how Rio if a municipality and how it is governed by a mayor. It also talked about how primary schools are administered by the municipal. Rio is home to many colleges and national research centers. Lastly, it discussed how Rio has good hair but there is a constant concern of pollution due to the lacking sanitation and health facilities in favelas. This website allowed me to gather information that I used on my politics and leadership and environmental challenegs tabs.

The carnival was organized in the 1640s to honor greek wine gods which over time lead to the very first Rio masquerade. It also discussed how the celebrations kick off with the crowning of King Momo and how there are many celebrations that begin once this takes place. Finally, it talked about the history of Samba and how it is very important and idolized throughout the celebrations of Carnival. All the information on this website was used on my megacity today page of my website.
